Linnet van der Wal

Linnet van der Wal has been trained in dance, music and singing from an early age. She studied singing at the Rotterdam Conservatory and graduated from the Amsterdam Theater School. As a performer, she traveled and worked with different theater companies and a variety of artists.

In addition to her work as a theater maker and singer, she has specialized in giving training and workshops. In these workshops, her experience and her own development in voice, body and energy work come together. Her love and enthusiasm for music are contagious, taking you into the free expression of the voice. Her own journey to become free and joyful in singing again after disciplined training allows her to inspire others to experience liberation and joy. She enjoys collaborating with other musicians and performers to create a unique setting that matches the energy of the moment.

In the festival she offers a singing circle evening and workshops, in the workshop you discover your voice and its resonance through physical sensations. From physical and sensory awareness you go on a journey with your own voice. During that journey you will find that everything is connected; heart, body, mind, energy and space. What happens to the sound with certain movements? What if you could actually rediscover your voice as a child, like making a sound for the first time?
Linnet playfully guides you through various exercises from the theater and from international voice workshops linked to the method ‘mobility development by Niek Brouw’. These exercises contribute, among other things, to regaining your body and voice and a healthy connection in unity.
