Learn to give a Thai yoga massage with loving touch…

Welcome to a transformative journey of relaxation and self-discovery at our Thai Massage Retreat. Nestled in a serene and peaceful environment, this retreat invites you to experience the perfect fusion of ancient Thai healing techniques with a tip of Tantra. Through soothing touch, mindful breathwork, and deep, intentional connection, you will awaken your body’s natural energy flow, restore balance, and tap into a deeper sense of inner peace. Whether you are seeking relaxation, emotional healing, or a spiritual awakening, this retreat offers a sacred space for you to rejuvenate, recharge, and reconnect with your true self.

Origins of Thai Massage

Traditional Thai Massage, also known as Thai Yoga Massage is an ancestral system of healing inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as by Yoga and Ayuverdic treatments, with acupressure and stretching. No oil is used and the receiver is clothed during the session. It is said to have been founded by the legendary Shivago Komarpaj, the Buddha’s personal physician.

Tantric Approach

Although this is not a Tantra course, it does include some Tantric elements and exercises. The massages place special emphasis on connection, loving touch, and being present. Giving a massage is a form of meditation. You create a deeper conscious connection with the present moment, with yourself, and with the other person. The massage is a holistic approach that embraces not only physical, but also mental and spiritual well-being. The deep health benefits and therapeutic effects make it more than just a massage—it’s a transformative healing experience.

Benefits of Thai Massage For The Receiver

While traditional Western massages focus primarily on manipulating muscles and promoting relaxation, this Thai massage goes beyond the physical realm to target energy pathways and restore balance within the body by incorporating passive stretching, acupressure, and gentle rocking movements. Through deep breathing and mindfulness practices integrated into each session, it creates a space for inner peace and tranquility.

This practice offers a sanctuary for emotional release and healing, fostering a sense of deep connection and acceptance between giver and receiver. It also has a grounding quality as the practitioner uses body weight, not strength, connecting the receiver to the Earth. This will cause a profound experience of relaxation and inner peace as it helps one to release emotional tension and embrace balance.

Benefits of Thai Massage for the giver

One of the magical aspects of Thai Massage is that the intention and goal is for both the giver and receiver to feel better after the session. Contrary to oil massage where one has to use muscle strength, thus causing fatigue and oftentimes sore joints, in Thai Massage body weight is used with little energy expended. So it’s not about pushing or stroking the receiver, but simply leaning one’s body weight into the receiver in a conscious, controlled manner.

Thai Massage more resembles a moving meditation. For the practitioner, it cultivates mindfulness, and can begin or deepen one’s own spiritual practice. It promotes strength, balance, poise and energy awareness. It can improve posture and breathing through more conscious carriage of the body. It has incorporated the graceful, soothing power of rocking, the fundamental movement of life on a cellular level.

I loved learning about Thai massage with Greg. His teaching style was very calm, wholesome and cultivated a sense of connection to the learning process and benefits of massage. I often felt grounded and nourished after sessions. There was a good balance of complexity and simplicity in knowing more about the technique and how to use the body in this. – Mike
